Q: What is the Ethics Hotline?
A: The Ethics Hotline is an independently run service for employees to report fraudulent or unethical behaviour in our workplace.

Q: Why have we decided to set up this service?
A:

The Ethics Hotline has been set up to ensure our workplace remains a safe and secure environment, free from professional misconduct including fraud, theft and other unethical behaviour.

Q: Why do we need this type of service at Metcash?
A:

Fraud, theft and other unethical activities are unacceptable and should be eliminated in the workplace. Until now, if a Metcash employee knew of or witnessed an incident or behaviour that they knew was wrong, there was no confidential or anonymous way to report it.

Conduct lines have proven records in uncovering vital information relating to professional misconduct and fraud, in particular.

Q: Why do we need a Ethics Hotline - doesn't the business trust us?
A:

Metcash prides itself on being an ethical and safe place at which to work. The Ethics Hotline has been set up to ensure our workplace remains this way. It is confidential and anonymous and operated by a company that is independent from Metcash and specialises in providing this kind of service.

We all have a role to play in eliminating activities which negatively impact our workplace whilst still respecting our fellow employees and the teams we are working with.

Q: What would I call the Ethics Hotline for?
A: The Ethics Hotline covers the following areas: fraud, misconduct, theft, any unethical behaviour, bullying, harassment, workplace safety, discrimination, environmental hazards and breaches of policy.
