How it Works

We want you to feel confident that you can report workplace misconduct without fear of retribution or reprisal. To guarantee the hotline's independence, an external provider, PKF Integrity Services (BMNS) Pty Ltd, is responsible for operating the Whistleblower Hotline. When an employee makes a call to the hotline they will be provided with a unique caller identification number. This number is the sole identifier of the call and the material provided in relation to that call. The call management system does not record the identity of the caller or the originating phone number.

Any call that you make will be dealt with by operators who are trained to gather and record sensitive information. Based on the content of the call, mail or email, a PKF Integrity Services (BMNS) Pty Ltd investigator will prepare an incident report. Once prepared, the report will be forwarded to the Optus Whistleblower Investigation Officer and Whistleblower Protection Officer within one business day so that an investigation can start.

We encourage you to use this service to report and issues that you encounter in the workplace. You can call the hotline number 24/7. In addition, an email service is available 24 hours a day. You can contact the hotline and report any incident of misconduct and other inappropriate behaviour, which includes fraud and other dishonest or criminal behaviour.

What to Report

The type of information you need to provide when reporting a suspected incidence of fraud, corruption or other illegal conduct should include:

  • names of people involved
  • names of any witnesses
  • date, time and location of incident(s)
  • details of any proof
  • money or assets involved
  • how often the incident has happened

If you are not sure of all the facts, don't worry - our operators don't expect you to know every last detail. Reporting a concern is enough - we'll do the rest. Having said that, the more information you can provide the better. Names, dates, times and places all help us to target our enquiries and increase our chances of finding anything if it's there to be found. Investigating vague allegations can be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

If you do find out some more information, call the hotline again and use your caller identification number to pass this extra information on. PKF Integrity Services (BMNS) Pty Ltd will forward it to the investigation team. The operator will give you a way to follow up on the status of your call, although you should give the investigators a bit of time to do some investigating first.
